Good evening (afternoon?) friends!
So today has been more of the back and forth, will they won’t they, he loves me, he loves me not with Trumpster Fire and Iran. However, I have our weekly dose of good things happening around the world!
And… surprise! This was accidentally posted four hours early (oops) but it’s always a good time for good news, right?
Let’s grab our tea and get into it, shall we?
-250,000 new street trees will pop up across England
The Trees for Streets project is working with local councils to plant 250,000 trees on England streets over the next decade. Residents can sponsor and take care of the trees in their neighborhood, and this will result in cleaner air and cooler streets! (Trees for Streets)
-There are 10 new marine reserves across the planet
From Colombia to Portugal, three countries just announced new protected ocean zones. These areas will help protect ocean wildlife and bring us toward a healthier ocean. (UN World Ocean Conference/Positive News)
-The world’s first blood cancer treatment is approved on the NHS
A new blood cancer therapy is being introduced on the NHS, and it’s the first of its kind globally! It uses advanced chemotherapy designed to help reduce side effects while maintaining its cancer fighting strength. (NHS England/The Guardian)
-The Vatican joins the 100% renewables club
The Vatican now runs on 100% renewable energy due to a new solar-powered agrivoltaic site outside of Rome. Built on land owned by the Vatican, the project will combine clean energy with farming. (Euronews Green)
-Rough sleeping is being decriminalized in England and Wales
A 200 year old law that made sleeping on the streets illegal is being struck down in England and Wales. Charities say it’s long overdue, and it’s a step towards treating the homeless with dignity and kindness. (The Big Issue/BBC)
There are still good things happening out there in the world, but it’s very easy to be blinded by the bad. Lord knows we see enough bad every day, right? However, good still exists. Good is still happening every day. Don’t lose hope friends, and take a deep breath. We’re still in this.
Yall know the drill. I see you, I hear you, I’m with you, and I love you. This administration will not break us. I’ll see everyone tomorrow morning for Coffee with Ren ☕️🤎
